Two kinds of help, both grounded in daily life

We keep our work narrow on purpose so we can do it well. Whatever brings you here, the process stays plain and the access stays real.

Disability access A person holding a disability identification card, used to access benefits and services

Disability access support that does the paperwork with you

Applying for a disability card or ID can feel like a second job. We sit with you, read the fine print together, and turn a confusing process into a short list of clear next steps you can actually finish.

  • One-to-one help reading eligibility rules and forms
  • A written plan with deadlines, not a stack of leaflets
  • Follow up until the card is in your hand

Emotional growth A diverse group of people in reflective conversation outdoors, representing emotional growth and support

Emotional growth work that fits into an ordinary week

Mental health is daily work, not a retreat. We help you build small, repeatable habits, naming feelings, setting boundaries, asking for help, that hold up on the hard days as well as the calm ones.

  • Practical sessions focused on habits you keep
  • Tools for regulation, journaling and steady reflection
  • Plain referrals when a specialist is the right call

A grounded approach, not spa fluff

Four commitments that shape every session, document and reply.

Access comes first

Every plan, room and document is built so a person can actually use it. Accessibility is the trust signal here, never an afterthought bolted on at the end.

We research it properly

Real digging, current rules and primary sources. We would rather say we will check than guess.

We make it clear

Plain language and the answer up front. You should not need a second read to know what to do next.

We keep it human

A real person reads every message and stays with you through the slow, frustrating parts.

What members tell us

Real words from people we have walked alongside.

They read the whole form with me and turned a year of dread into three appointments. I finally have my card and I did not do it alone.

The emotional growth sessions are practical, not precious. I left with habits I still use months later, and none of it felt clinical.
Devon AchebeReturning member
Clear, patient and genuinely accessible. They explained my options in plain words and never once made me feel like a burden.

What does Fieldnote Practice actually do?

We are a small wellbeing studio. We help people with two practical things: getting and using disability access (cards, IDs and benefits), and steady emotional growth work for mental health. Both are treated as daily, doable work.

Do I need a diagnosis to work with you?

No. For emotional growth sessions you do not need anything but a willingness to start. For disability access support we will help you understand what documentation a given program needs and how to gather it.

Is your space and process accessible?

Yes, and we mean it. Rooms, documents and the way we communicate are all built to be usable. If something about reaching us is a barrier, tell us and we will change it.

How quickly will I hear back?

Most messages get a reply within one working day. A real person reads every note that comes in, including corrections and questions.

How do I start?

Send a short note through the contact page with your name, a phone number and a couple of sentences about your situation. We will reply with a clear first step.

Steady support is one short note away

Tell us a little about your situation and we will reply within a working day with a clear, plain first step. No forms to decode, no pressure.
